NESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme, in collaboration with the Secretariat of the World Network of Mountain Biosphere Reserves and the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (Chinese Academy of Sciences), is inviting 15 Mountain Biosphere Reserves from around the world to participate in a unique international training and collaborative research initiative on assessing biosphere reserve effectiveness for sustainable development.

Following the five-day training, selected biosphere reserves will implement the assessment methodology at their own sites over approximately one year, contributing to an international pilot initiative while benefiting from peer learning, technical exchange, and collaborative research opportunities.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are invited from Mountain Biosphere Reserves that:
- Have completed at least one Periodic Review.
- Are committed to evidence-based management and monitoring.
- Can nominate one manager or researcher with a good command of English.
- Have institutional support to carry out the assessment after the training.

For one representative from each selected biosphere reserve, the organizers will provide:

- ๐ Local transportation during the training
- ๐ฝ๏ธ Meals throughout the course
Participants are responsible only for visa arrangements and compliance with entry requirements.
